~~~About My Character~~~
What is your character's history? Are they a hero, or a villain, a sidekick or guardian? What has happened to them in their lives to make them the way they are today?
Not much is known about Esmeralda's past. Her mother and father had left Esmeralda on the steps of Notre Dame when she was just an infant. Clopin Troulliefou, the king of the gypsies had found her a few days later after her parents disappearance. Having no idea where her parents were, Clopin bent down and picked up and brought her to the court of miracles.
From then on, Esmeralda grew up living in the court of miracles and living a life of a gypsy. Mostly everyday she would go and out and dance to collect money for herself. Esmeralda had grown to become a very professional dancer.
Twenty years had gone passed, and that time of year had come. The Festival of Fools. While she was in her tent getting ready, she came out and started dancing. The Minister of Justice, Judge Claude Frollo had come to the festival that day. As she danced, she began to tease him. After wrapping her purple yellowed scarf around his neck, Esmeralda had pushed his hat down on his face.
Coming back upon the stage, Esmeralda began pulling people upon the stage. Pulling peoples masks, off Esmeralda reached the bell ringer of Notre Dame. As she tried to she realized it wasn't just a mask. It was his face. So much confusion came to the crowed, and the minister was most certainly not pleased with this. Though Clopin tried to calm the people down, and then claimed Quasimodo as King of Fools.
After that, she went back to her tent to get changed into her purple attire. Coming out of the tent she couldn't believe on what was going on. Stopping the crowed from humiliating the poor boy, Esmeralda and the Judge had an argument about her people. Esmeralda then disappeared. Not knowing what else to do once the day was done, she went into Notre Dame and tried to get some answers from God.
Thinking she was alone in the Cathedral, one of the soldiers had followed her inside. After they had a little fight, she wasn't too pleased with him. Then he introduced himself as Phoebes. Frollo came in for a moment. He wasn't to pleased about what was going on. Esmeralda told him that he tricked her. Once he was gone, Frollo came up behind her and told her that if she set one foot outside, that she would belong to him. Disgusted with the man she had no where to go but stay inside the cathedral.
Quasimodo was upstairs on the rafters cleaning the bells, when he heard her singing. Amazed with both her beauty and her singing the two became fast friends. He helped her escape the cathedral and away from Frollo.
Years went on and Frollo continued his search for Esmeralda. His unhealthy obsession for the girl. Early one morning, just before the sun came up, he had tied her to a stake. He had given her a sentence of death for using witch-craft against him during that day at the festival. Quasimodo was at the top of Notre Dame watching everything that was going on. Frollo gave Esmeralda a few choices. To chose him and be free of what might have been next. Or to sacrifice her self. Esmeralda didn't chose anything, he began to light the fire on her.
Quasimodo freaked out when he saw this. He jumped down and saved her from dying. He thought he was too late, but he was not when she spoke. Frollo then fell to his own death and Esmeralda was relived. That same day, Phoebes and Esmeralda cheered with the crowed of Paris. Esmeralda went back inside and tried to pull Quasimodo out of the cathedral into the sunlight. From then on they've been safe and free from all evil. Quasimodo had become a hero to both Esmeralda and of course Paris. Now many years later she has a married Phoebes, and gave birth to a son named Zephyr.
Describe your character's personality. What are their strengths and weaknesses, what are their passions? What qualities do they have that are good or bad? Esmeralda could be one of the most friendliest people you could ever meet.She enjoys being around different people and of course children. Esmeralda is always happy but tends to get annoyed when something harms her people. Esmeralda has a strong feel of hate towards Judge Frollo. He once had tried to burn her to death, but she was saved by Quasimodo. From then on she had a bond between Quasi and now calls him her friend. She's pretty grateful for that and will do anything to keep everyone out of harms way.

The young Gypsy had awoken early that morning to darkness still in the sky. The sun was slowly coming over the edges of the horizon making them turn different shades of colors in the sky. She had always loved the early mornings considering she'd watch many people gather up and open up their stores. Esmeralda turned to gaze at her young son sleeping near by and smiled softly.
Esmeralda gave a sigh and placed on her light blue shawl over her shoulders and put up her hood and looked about her surroundings as she left her home to go buy something to eat for her family. Phoebus was already outside waiting for her. The other gypsies would look after her son for her whilst she was out with Phoebus.
"Are you ready to go?" she asked him curiously. Her emerald eyes gazed up to his for a moment as she waited for his answer. With a nod she smiled softly and began walking. Feeling the cold stones underneath her bare feet she smiled softly as she wondered around her surroundings with Phoebus. "We need to get some food before the crowd begins" she said softly to him. A few shop keepers were opening up and she began to look at the food that they were pulling out. Esmeralda gave a small smile as she watched.

I've always wanted to play Esmeralda. I think she was one of the awesome characters in Hunchback. I think that because, she was one of my characters who I admired the most. She is free spirited
