Character Name Mooch.
Character's Origin 101 Dalmatians: The Series.
~~~About My Character~~~
What is your character's history? Are they a hero, or a villain, a sidekick or guardian? What has happened to them in their lives to make them the way they are today?
Mooch is an original resident of the farm before it was purchased by the Radcliffes and the couple and their one-hundred and three dalmatians (that’s counting the parents of the bunch, Pongo and Perdita) moved in. He is supposed to be one of the resident sheepdogs, but instead is content to spend his time loafing around and causing trouble with his gang, which consists of the dalmatian pups Dipstick, Wizzer, and on occasion, Two-Tone.
He approached the three sometime after they had arrived and suggested that the four of them start their own gang. Because of his age, size, and strength, Mooch is the undisputed top dog among them. He takes credit for his gang’s accomplishment, and claims the biggest portions of the food that the group pilfers from Nanny’s kitchen.
His chief rival is the dalmatian Lucky, and they have butted heads numerous times, though there have also been situations where they've worked together as well, such as the time when Mooch was accused of thievery by the other animals and Lucky was wrangled into becoming his lawyer. One thing that Mooch really wants is praise and affection from the Radcliffes, and he will go as far as to undermine the dalmatian puppies to get it (though he makes a point to avoid bothering Pongo and Perdita – they’re bigger than him).
Mooch is well aware of the fact that he is disliked by a majority of the other farm animals, but it seems that being a thug is one of the few things he really knows how to successfully do. It would seem that most of the adult animals have little time or patience to try and deal with him, and so he feels free to do as he pleases. Privately, he wishes that he was more well-liked, but his behavior is so ingrained in him by this point that it is somewhat difficult for him to break his bad habits.
Describe your character's personality. What are their strengths and weaknesses, what are their passions? What qualities do they have that are good or bad?
Mooch has a very tough-talking, swaggering, rough manner about himself. Don't expect him to share or talk about his emotions. He has this tendency to give everyone (often derogatory) nicknames, as he gets a kick out of teasing people. He himself has been the target of more than few insults aimed his way before, so he figures that he should strike first before the other person can. He also likes playing tricks on others. Being a teenager, he has an eye for pretty lady canines, and will try to flirt with them. Work is not one of his favorite things, and he prefers to goof off or engage in a game of some sort with his buddies. Even though he often finds Lucky annoying, Mooch doesn’t hate him or any of the other Dalmatians, and has been known to play with them.
Mooch’s flaws... well, he’s got quite a few. He can be selfish, as evidenced by the fact that he doesn’t mind taking what isn’t his from the kitchen. He can also be brutish, cocky, and quite the rude young dog. Being a bully, he will not antagonize anyone who’s bigger or more intimidating then him. He can become very jealous very easily. As an example of this, he is envious of the dalmatian puppies for having a large loving family, as he has few memories of his own.
He can be clever and sly, but tends to uses his smarts for causing trouble. His major physical talents are his fighting skills and intimidation. There is a more sensitive, gentle, and thoughtful side to him that has occasionally surfaced, but he needs to be around a positive influence to bring it out. He is very competitive, desiring to show that he’s better then Lucky, Tripod, or any of the other dogs.
~~~Sample~~~
Give us a small sample of how you will play your character. Give us at least three paragraphs.
A smallish gray dog plodded down the street on spindly limbs that were supported by paws that looked as if they belonged to a bigger dog. The dog, Mooch, looked around himself, curious about his surroundings, but was careful to pretend that he wasn’t. He wasn’t as dumb as a lot of the other farm animals back home supposed. He listened to and even watched some travel shows with the other young dogs, and had seen enough evidence to conclude that he was somewhere in England: the flags, how everyone talked all funny and fancy-sounding, and the big horse-drawn carriages. Even the street looked really weird to him. It wasn’t the pavement and grass and dirt roads he was used to, but looked like it was made out of round flat rocks.
Wait, if this was England, weren’t there supposed to be lots of sheep here? Sheep meant sheepdogs! It’d be cool if he could track some down and see what they were like. He didn’t know much about his family (heck, he didn’t know what breed he was supposed to be), so the idea of meeting other dogs like him intrigued him. He just hoped they were awesome and not boring and lame like the Colonel was. He couldn’t wait until he got back to the farm and told everyone about his adventures here! He bet Lucky and his little friends had never done anything as cool as this before!
An abrupt crack of thunder overhead caused him to jump. Embarrassed, he quickly looked around to make sure no one had witnessed his momentary lack of self-confidence. Thankfully, no one was. As he was about to resume his exploration, the thunder seemed to have singled a heavy downpour from the grayish cloud blanketing the sky. As his scruffy coat was saturated by rain droplets, Mooch made a run for the nearest shelter he could find, which was beneath a wagon. Irritated, he shook the water out of his cot, then sat down. Lowering his head, he glared out at the wet conditions. ‘This place blows...’ He darkly thought.
~~~Bonding~~~
Why this character? What draws you to them, what makes you want to play them? Do you have anything in common with them? Haha, I really have nothing in common with Mooch, thankfully. I’m nowhere near as mean and tricky as he can be. The only traits I do share with him is being scrawny and having difficulties with expressing my real feelings.
I’ll be honest -- Mooch is one of only two characters in "101 Dalmatians: The Series" that I actually like (I do love the first animated film though). While he was a jerk much of the time, I really liked the moments where he showed he wasn’t entirely bad. I’ve seen him be wonderfully role-played elsewhere, with the “diamond in the rough” facet of his character being more thoroughly explored then it was in the show, and was so impressed that I wanted to pick him up and try playing him myself. And well, I love minor characters.
My profile also draws on a few influences from the original "101 Dalmatians", so I hope that's alright.
What would you like your custom title to be? This can be anything you like in reference to your character and will appear under your name. I'll hold off on getting one for now, since I yet to find a good one.
Who else do you play here? No one yet.
~~~Newbies~~~
What is your name? (If you're not comfortable telling us your real name, that's fine. Just give us a pen name that we can use when addressing you.) Call me Nicole.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. I've been RPing online since high school (and I'm far better at it now then I was then, let me tell you!). As part of that, I also enjoy writing (my own ideas as well as fanfiction) and reading. I'm pretty easy to get along with. I not only love Disney animation, but many other types of cartoons as well (or at least the characters in them), both film and television.

Did you pm The Dreamer with the secret sentence? (If you haven't, check the rules!) Yeah... hope I have the right answer!
