~~~About My Character~~~
What is your character's history? Are they a hero, or a villain, a sidekick or guardian? What has happened to them in their lives to make them the way they are today?
Fievel is a hero and at his significantly young age, he has gone through a lot of adventures. His story began in a little Russian town called Shostka. It was 1885 and the mouse and his poor but loving family were celebrating Hanukkah. His papa was telling him and his older sister Tanya a wonderful story about America when the celebration was suddenly interrupted by an army of Cossacks (and cats) who attacked the entire village.
Their home was completely destroyed which in turn caused the Mousekewitzs to decide that they are going to move to America. Fievel, ecstatic about this journey, spent most of his time wandering around the boat while they were sailing and anticipating the moment they finally arrive in the new country. On one particular incident when he was looking for his hat, the mouse got separated from his family who soon believed that he had drowned.
Fortunately, Fievel had managed to find refuge in a bottle which carried him all the way across the Atlantic ocean and into a settlement known as Staten Island. He soon ran into a pigeon by the name of Henri who gave the downtrodden child some help and optimistic assurance that he would find his family. Uplifted by the bird's advice, the mouse had decided to embark on his mission to search for the other Mousekewitzs.
While he was beginning to explore the city, Fievel was assailed by a conman called Warren T. Rat who soon was granted the little mouse's trust. Ultimately, he betrayed Fievel and sold him to a sweatshop in which a tyrannical and monstrous rat named Moe was in charge. Initially, Fievel believed that Warren was going to help him find his Papa and the rest of his family but it didn't take him very long to discover that it was all a setup. It was probably not the first time Fievel had gotten lied to in his life, but undeniably one of the sneakiest plans.
Fievel soon befriended an Italian mouse named Tony who was a few years older than him but still willing to lend a hand in his journey. He found a bit of solace in having the street-smart mouse nearby and regarded him as somewhat of an older brother. Not long after their escape from the sweatshop, the two of them ran into an Irish mouse called Bridget who was trying to lead a revolution against the cats. She and Tony fell head over heels for each other while Fievel was left wondering what had gone awry so quickly.
Once Tony and Bridget had wrapped up their intimate moment, the female mouse led the boys to a tipsy politician named Honest John. Said drunk mouse had the knowledge of knowing all the votes of the mice in the city thus far but he wasn't able to find the names of Fievel's family. Despondent, Fievel's hope started to decrease more and more.
While attending a rally for the protection of the mice, Fievel decided that he was going to help the mice get rid of the cats. He stumbled his way to the podium, whispered a plan to the richest and most powerful of the mice, and the others decided to go ahead and construct the child's idea. However, on the day the plan came into action, he got lost once more and stumbled into the lair of Warren T. Rat. He soon discovered that the conman was actually a cat and he and his cronies were bent on eating the mice after he had stocked up on all their money. Accidentally revealing himself, Fievel got kidnapped once more but set free when one of the cats, a goofy orange one named Tiger with whom he would become good friends with, took a liking to him.
After a showdown with a mechanical mouse all of the mice created, a great number of the cats (with the exception of Tiger) were abated onto a ship sailing to Hong Kong. In the midst of the chaos, Fievel was still lost and unable to find anybody he could recognize so his last shred of hope was almost gone. Thankfully, the morning after the fight, while he was settled in a pile of hay, he could hear the sound of his parents, sister, and friends calling him in the distance. Alerted, the mouse ran into their direction with joy and open arms, having reunited with them at last.
Describe your character's personality. What are their strengths and weaknesses, what are their passions? What qualities do they have that are good or bad?
Fievel is, in a nutshell, the average six year old but in mouse form. He's wide-eyed, full of endless wonder, and he's always eager to learn about the world around him. For every answer he can come up with on his own, he has about a dozen questions. It's typical for him to wander off and try to explore wherever he is, even if he's in the most mundane of places.
Generally, he's cheerful and friendly to whoever he meets, which unfortunately lures him into danger sometimes. He's always ready to make a new friend but being a child, he's still extremely naive about people. He's a little too quick to trust others and often ends up confused when he finds out he's being taken advantage of or mocked. He also tends to be a bit sensitive, even if somebody is kidding around with him. While not ill-mannered, Fievel does have a hard time remembering the rules as well and he can be a bit stubborn.
~~~Sample~~~
Give us a small sample of how you will play your character. Give us at least three paragraphs.
It was a gorgeous day; a welcome change to the storm that had blown through the area the night before. The sun was shimmering down on the little town, bathing its inhabitants in a warm yellow glow. The birds were chirping merrily and the few clouds that were in the sky lolled by slowly, like fat heaps of marshmallows. In spite of the glorious weather, there was nothing that was too out of the ordinary. It might have been a new day but that didn't mean there was going to be a distinctive shift in the daily rituals. As soon as the sun rose, so had the villagers and it was time for the routine to commence.
Inside of the baker's shop, a portly man was taking some fresh rolls out of the oven and waving an oven mitt over the pan to cool them off. A wonderful smell was emanating out a broken hole in the door, luring in a certain little mouse. This was certainly not his first time exploring New York but it was his first time entering this particular town. The sights, sounds, and people were enthralling and fascinating to Fievel but he decided that he needed a break from all of the excitement. This place definitely seemed as though it would be more laid-back in contrast to the lively city.
The tiny rodent sniffed the air, his little mouth curling up into a delighted beam. He hovered in further to investigate the tray, his dark eyes widening. Gosh, that bread looked so delicious. Maybe the cook wouldn't mind if he sampled a crumb...
THWAP!
A rolling pin immediately hurtled down, missing the mouse by an inch or two. The baker's chubby face reddened with anger, clearly indicating that Fievel had no business in here. He lifted the rolling pin like a sword, determined to squash the little mouse into a pancake and Fievel gave a high yelp, scurrying down from the table and back out the hole in the door. Perhaps that hadn't been such a tactful idea to go in there. No matter...he'd find something else to eat, wouldn't he?
The mouse sighed, heading over to a pretty fountain in the middle of the ville to catch his breath. He plunked onto the white, wet construction with a groan.

~~~Bonding~~~
Why this character? What draws you to them, what makes you want to play them? Do you have anything in common with them?
Well, An American Tail is one of, if not my favorite Don Bluth movie and I've never thought about playing any of the characters before now. So I watched the first movie again recently and found Fievel to be a really lovable and interesting character for a little one. Sometimes child characters in animated movies can be utterly annoying, to the point where they ruin the whole plot just by existence, but I feel like the little mouse had an opposite effect on me.
He was endearing but he also played a significant role, aside from being the cute little kid. He was fascinated about America, he had determination, and for an animated kid/rodent, he felt realistic. He didn't have some martyr complex, nor was he totally useless. I'm also drawn in by his innocence as well. Much like the aforementioned martyr complex/uselessness, it's pretty easy to find a kid with a bratty demeanor and a holier-than-thou attitude in movies today. While Fievel is disobedient, he doesn't have any bad intentions. He's just full of curiosity and he's sweet.
What would you like your custom title to be? This can be anything you like in reference to your character and will appear under your name. <Herring? I thought they were fish.>
Who else do you play here?
Nobody yet. :3
What is your name? (If you're not comfortable telling us your real name, that's fine. Just give us a pen name that we can use when addressing you.) Ailie or Ai works. I've been going by Ai a lot lately. XP
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Well, I'm a freshman in college with a Disney, Harry Potter and horror movie addiction. Music, reading, and writing are pretty my life and I'm incredibly shy with people I don't know. However, I try to make the best effort I can to open up and be social but sometimes it's a little hard.
